It is used as a biliary agent for liver disease, stones in the gallbladder, etc. as a constipating agent (for diarrhoea), diuretic and diaphoretic agent (for cold, oedema, kidney disease, etc.). The herb is also used for haemorrhoids, bleeding gums, washing of varicose ulcers, etc. It is especially recommended for gargling in case of throat inflammation and laryngitis.
METHOD OF PREPARATION
Make tea by pouring 1/2 l of boiling water over 3-4 teaspoons of the herb. After cooling down, filter the tea and drink it for 1-2 days. For laryngitis, the following gargle recipe is recommended: Boil 100 g of dry leaves in 1 l of water while the volume decreases by 1/3.
